If you are like me, you spend most of your waking hours in work wear. What you wear sends a message and you want to look presentable and confident at work, so the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a good time to freshen up your fall work wardrobe.
I’m sharing my picks for 2022 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale work wear and jewelry. Many of the jewelry items make appropriate accessories for work.
Blazers
A blazer is a must have if you work in a professional environment. You can take a blazer beyond the boardroom and office and wear it as a light layer with a tee shirt and jeans on the weekend.
Plaid blazers are always trendy during the fall and remain classics. A black blazer is a great basic if you are just adding blazers to your wardrobe.
Work Wear Bottoms
A pair of work pants that you love and that fits well will be a work horse in your work wardrobe. Now is a good time to try new brands or restock old favorites. A lot of the work pants in the Nordsrom Anniversary Sale are flare leg, and while I love a well draping trouser leg pant, I’m not crazy about the flare leg dress pants. I can’t predict how long they will stay around, so I will stick to classic cuts. There are plenty of ankle pants in the sale that will likely remain in style.
There were not a lot of skirts in the sale that caught my eye but a pencil skirt is good to have in a work wardrobe as well.
Some of the pants coordinate with matching blazers. Matching suits will continue to be trendy. You can get a better fit buying them as separates and expand your options by wearing the pieces together and separately. Unfortunately, not many of the matching separates come in petites.
Tops and Blouses
Puff sleeves continue to be plentiful. While I love them, they don’t always fit well under a blazer and the aesthetic is lost when you have to cover them with a blazer or jacket. Camisoles and sleeveless tops are my go to choices for work wear, especially for summer and our warm fall weather.
A pretty white or ivory blouse is always a good staple choice.

Most of this is featured in gold, but many of the pieces come in silver too. There are a lot more choices for jewelry than I remember in the past. I typically shop Kendra Scott and Madewell in the Nordstrom Sale and many of these pieces go fast.
