I did a post a while back on how to wear two pieces two ways- work and play. I decided to do a similar post with these outfits featuring one piece two ways. Both outfits feature the same striped sailor sweater.
This sweater works well for work with a pencil skirt and blazer. A striped sweater can sometimes be worn to the office more easily than a striped tee because a sweater will often be a bit more dressy than a tee. I’ve even got some pattern mixing going on here similar to the post I just referenced, thanks to the pattern in the skirt. The look stays professional because the pieces are the same colors.

I also paired this sweater with white jeans and leopard flats for a casual look. This outfit is still a little more dressy with the sweater than a tee or other striped shirt but sometimes you need or want dressy casual outfits for the weekends. Sneakers would make the look more casual and a heel would dress it up even more. Flats are a good in between option.

If you are looking to minimize your wardrobe or just get more for your money, shop with an eye for pieces like this that can be worn in more than one setting. Always ask yourself if you can wear one piece two ways or even three. Can you wear it both dressy and casual? It’s a sure fire way to get more bang for your buck.
