I wore this outfit for Thanksgiving. What’s more appropriate than leggings for a day of stuffing yourself with lots of food? The key to wearing leggings and still looking put together is what you wear with them. I went through several options and settled on this poncho
. My mother gave it to me for Christmas several years ago. It does not see nearly enough wear. I decided to challenge myself going forward through this winter to wear something in my closet that’s rarely worn and to make sure I wear the new things I have recently purchases.
Yes, I’m one of those who lets new things sit too long before I wear them. WHY is this? But I did well with this outfit by wearing the poncho as on older piece and wearing the brand new tee and boots.

I was all about wearing rust, orange and pumpkin colors in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, so I chose this scarf for Thanksgiving. But imagine this outfit with a green plaid or red scarf? Instantly Christmas.
And still perfect for yet another day of traveling and stuffing yourself with yummy food. I challenge you to go through your closet and choose some neutral basics, or not so basic in neutral colors like this poncho, and then try that outfit with lots of different scarves. Tie them lots of different ways as well and you will instantly have lots of outfits from one core outfit.
Other accessories and shoes can help change up a look too. I chose these rose gold earrings to compliment the orange hues. I got these earrings last Christmas from the hubby (by request) and I first thought I didn’t like them but they have grown on me so much over the year. I have worn them too many times to count now.
You may get tired of me harping on Kendra Scott, but it’s been worth every penny I’ve invested in it so far. Other less expensive jewelry has quickly tarnished or the “gold” has worn off with frequent wear, but my Kendra Scott is still going strong after lots of daily wear. Any piece would make a great Christmas gift.
