Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Today I’m sharing my Nordstrom Anniversary Try On Haul. The sale ends July 31 (this Sunday) so if there is something you have been on the fence about, now is the time to snag it.
I can’t guarantee anything I’m sharing is in stock but it seems like things have stayed in stock better this year. Maybe they stocked better, or maybe less people shopped. Many of my instagram and facebook followers said they were not shopping the sale.
It can be frustrating to have to wait for public access or even influencer status. Some things were already sold out when I was able to shop as an influencer. I doubt I will ever achieve ambassador status because the spending amount to reach that is more than my entire clothing budget for the year! I think the average person may be getting tired of it.
Anyway, I did score some great things that I will put to good use for work and off duty. If an item is not in stock, check frequently because it may pop in before the end of the week.
Fit info- I’m typically a size 6-8, height 5’2″. I’m currently around 160 lbs (working on that!) so an 8 is probably my go to size for right now.
I am wearing the pants in a size 8 regular. I don’t like the looks of the length of these pants on the online model so I went with a regular size instead of a petite. These pants feel amazing and will be great pants for work. I tried a 6 petite for kicks because I was concerned these might stretch out a bit and 6p was too snug in the legs. I found that size to be odd because the waist and hips fit as well as the 8 regular but the thigh and calf area was too tight.
I also purchased the pants in the charcoal black plaid and navy grey plaid. I am awaiting a a new order in a different size as the size 8 in these fit looser than the black pants. I am going to try 8P and 6 regular in these before making a final decision. Even another pair of size 8 might fit differently. Sizing truly is crazy!
Fit tip: Did you know that in some cases you can float between regular and petite sizes? For example a 10 regular is roughly the same as a 12 petite. So the 8 regular should be the same as a 10 petite. Of course all brands are different. Don’t ever be afraid to try a range of sizes. It’s just a number. Also, you might wear regular pants and petite tops because of a shorter torso or smaller shoulders or you might wear regular tops and petite pants because of shorter legs. I shop and wear both petite and regular sizes.
I purchased my top last year (wearing small) and wear it all the time under blazers for work. It’s also cute by itself with jeans or shorts. It’s still fully stocked and a great investment if you need work wear.
I purchased the pumps in my “normal” 7.5 and had to repurchase in a 7. I say “normal” loosely as 7 seems to be becoming my normal over the past couple of years. I recenlty had to toss out my grey snakeskin pumps as they split on a seam and were completely worn out.
I wear them a lot so I invested a little more in this pair. I haven’t worn them yet to attest to comfort but I didn’t note any issues out of the box other than having to size down to 7. I don’t buy shoes that need “breaking in.” Snakeskin and leopard pumps (or flats) are both neutral enough to wear with anything but give an outfit more interest than solid color shoes.
The blouse is the same cut and style as the polka dot blouse. It will also work well under blazers and cardigans for work. I love the color and used to have a similar one but wasn’t happy with the fit. I already know I love the polka dot top so I didn’t even have to think about this one.
The Ted Baker London bow flats are cute and comfy. They are a great neutral color. I returned them because I sized up to an 8 based on the website recommendations and should have stuck with 7.5. They were also not quite the color I was looking for as they look a little darker and more of a cognac color on the website. If I didn’t already have too many light neutral shoes, I would purchase them.
I have a similar top in red and love a simple ruffle that isn’t too frilly or overdone. I wear this green color a lot in the fall and winter so this top is also one I didn’t have to think twice about purchasing. It can be pretty warm here during the fall and winter, so the sleeveless top will be great for work under blazers.
I loved the plaid pattern of these pants. Just the right amount of green, rust and camel. With the matching blazer, the two pieces would make a great fall suit for work. However, the pants run small. This size 8 is too snug for me and they are too long for a petite. I turned them under for photos.
I’m on my third order of these loafers, but I love them so I’m determined to have them. The first order of a 7.5 had to be returned for a size 7. The pair I received in 7 had defective stitching on the top (the material wasn’t even) so I have returned them and ordered another pair. These are cozy and comfy and will work great with dress pants and with jeans for casual outfits. I got them in both the camel and navy.
Even though these Spanx pants have faux back pockets and seams to make them look like trousers, make no mistake- they are leggings! Leggings on steroids. I wouldn’t dare wear these to my work place. They need to be treated as leggings and worn with longer tops. I returned them because I don’t need them.
These booties look crazy with these “pants” but they would be great with a trouser leg or flare leg pant. Cole Haan shoes are always comfy to me right out of the box. Wearing 7.5 in these.
I’m not one to gravitate to a plain white blouse, but give me one with details like lace and pintucks and I’m all over it. This lightweight top is perfect for work wear in southern summers and fall. Wear it alone or under a blazer.
Cole Haan shoes seem to always work for me straight out of the box and are always comfortable. These neutral color flats are worth every penny. Plain flats sometimes make me look frumpy but these have enough heel and detail to get past that issue. Wearing a size 7.5.
Also wearing the Kendra Scott Grier Hoop Earrings– These are a perfect medium size earring. Elegant enough to wear to the office.
+Wit and Wisdom Itty Bitty Boot Cut Jeans
I don’t normally spend this much for a sweater but this one is soft, comfy, and the perfect weight for our warm fall and winters. It has just the right amount of slouch without being overwhelming so I’m splurging and keeping it.
Wit and Wisdom jeans rarely disappoint me. My keepers are the girlfriend jeans because they feel so good and are too cute not to keep. Wearing an 8 regular.
I’m wearing the straight leg jeans in an 8 petite. They would be keepers too but I have plenty of denim. Maybe after I purge some jeans I’ll reconsider these.
Itty Bitty Boot Cut Jeans have been on my wish list for a long time but once I got my hand on them, I was a little disappointed. They fit tight in the calf and flare out a little funny on me. Traditional boot cut jeans do not fit tight in the calves. I tried a different wash as well but the pair I received had funny fading on the butt. I don’t mind some fading on jeans but this was too much focused on the butt area. Wearing an 8 regular.
I don’t know if the boot cut part would grow on me or not. An Instragram poll leaned more toward votes for returning from followers but it was close to a 50/50 split.
The sweater is lightweight and comfy. It’s thin enough to wear under a blazer.
The booties come in several colors. White will be trendy this fall. These are a little snug to get on but fit fine once they are on. Wearing 7.5 in bone. I’m returning these and will look for a different white pair closer to fall. I don’t have any complaints, they just aren’t my “heck yeah” boots.
