It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like A Coastal Christmas

Happy Friday! So glad to have made it to Friday. I left home at 5:00 a.m. for work yesterday so it was a long day. I’m happy to see the weekend.

I’m also happy to see my Christmas lights glowing in my house. Christmas lights and Christmas trees are some of my favorite things, so I’m sharing my Christmas decor with you today. I’m eager to share the outside porch decor too, but I’m waiting on a doormat that I ordered from etsy. It didn’t get shipped when it was supposed to, so I’m still waiting on it for the porch to be complete.

Let’s start at the entrance. I was afraid a tree would not fit by the fireplace because we can no longer move Bella’s kennel since it’s also the end table, so I picked up this four foot flocked tree from Michael’s on Black Friday. It turned out that the pencil tree worked just fine in the normal tree spot, so I put this little Christmas tree by the bookcase at the entrance where I normally put the pencil tree. We decided not to put any ornaments on it, but I did place it in a rope basket I picked up from TJMaxx. It’s a good thing we didn’t decorate it. Bella has knocked it over twice now. When she gets startled or excited about something, she jumps up, spins off her bed, the bed goes sliding across the tile floor and into the tree. Over the tree goes.

We have still enjoyed the woodsy, winter outdoor feel this little tree brings to our home as it is.

Next up is the ceramic tree. My husband has owned this one since childhood. My mom has a similar one and has put it out since I was a child. I noticed some reproductions of the one my mom has at Michael’s. It used to be my job to put those little light pegs in the holes and it was one of my favorite things.

If I had more small trees, I’d have them everywhere. This little guy is on a tray with some glitter pinecones on the coffee table. Some cinnamon scented mini pinecones fill the birdcage and the smell is heavenly. I’d also like to some battery operated mini lights to add to this little tree.

I decided to decorate my Christmas tree in a coastal theme this year. I’ve been collecting coastal theme ornaments for a couple of years. I purchased some at Kirkland’s last year and some of the new releases from Kirkland’s this year. I’ve been given a few Coastal theme ornaments over the years as well. I also had a vision of keeping things white and light and airy this year.

Of all things, I could not find white ribbon! Who doesn’t have white ribbon at Christmas?! Not to be defeated, I went with white sparkly mesh ribbon for my tree. I also picked up a couple of new garland’s from Michael’s and a few willow picks for this year’s tree.

Changing up the tree theme and the colors a bit meant I needed new stockings. Amazon to the rescue!

Piece by piece it all came together with a few new purchase and things I had around the house. The little blue tree was used for a few years as a photo prop in our business, but now it’s a fun touch for this years decor.
