How to Wear the Spring Neutrals Color Trend

This year Pantone picked some core colors that work in any season. They are a set of neutral colors and two of them and all sorts of variants are super trendy this spring. Neutrals are great to wear year round, but let’s take a look at how to wear them this spring.

I’m focusing on the spring neutrals buttercream, desert mist, and the color I’d call camel. Ann Taylor has done a fabulous job of putting together spring pieces in all of the color trends we have discussed so far (greens, blues and raspberry) and they are on point with a color they call sand.

They are also spot on (pun intended) with this leopard print sweater tee. Leopard is always a neutral and I’m loving the lightened up versions for spring. Ann Taylor also has a similar long sleeve version.

I’ve paired it with white jeans and cognac flats for a neutral spring look. I also envision this with grey pants for work. My white jeans are from one of my favorite brands for skinny jeans- NYDJ. I accessorized the look with a cognac headband and a neutral color wrap bracelet.

Another way to wear neutrals in the spring is to pair them with light wash jeans. I’m styling a leopard tee from Old Navy this time, with a cardigan and taupe flats, also from Old Navy. Light wash denim adds a spring touch to your outfits. Anything in lighter hues screams spring.

Neutrals certainly don’t have to be boring. Keep outfits interesting by bringing in different shades and textures. In the first outfit, the woven headband and flats add some texture to the outfit. In this second look, the cardigan, the faux suede flats and the woven tote bring in the texture.
