Hello and welcome! Today’s Fashion A to Z edition is all about embroidery.
Embroidery is the practice of creating designs on fabric with thread. It has been utilized to decorate clothing for almost as long as man has worn clothing. Sometimes additional materials like sequins, bead and metals are woven into the designs. Elaborate embroidery was often used to signify status.
A couple of years ago, embroidery was a big fall trend, with everyone donning a pair of embroidered jeans or an embroidered denim jacket.
While it’s not the trend of the year this year, I think it can still be worn with some classic pieces without looking outdated.
Jeans- A.N.A./ JCPenney; option tee- Target; jacket- JCPenney; option shoes- Payless; option earrings- Kendra Scott; clutch- Forever 21- option
I purchased my embroidered jeans a couple of years ago. I paired them with a classic white tee and a utility jacket.
Embroidered jeans might not be the trend of the moment, but embroidery lives on in the bohemian or “boho” style. Boho pieces can be mixed with ease with other modern pieces even if full-on boho isn’t your style.
Top- Amazon; jeans- Old Navy; boots- Hinge/ Nordstom; option earrings Alison+Aubrey
This cute embroidered top comes in several colors and is a great option for going just a little boho. I purchased a small but would size up for a looser fit. This top is a great way to be on trend with embroidery whether this fashion element is having a moment or not.
What are your thoughts on embroidery as a fashion statement?
