December Purchases: Amazon Prime and More

Whoo! December was a heavy shopping month, with gifts to buy and taking advantage of the awesome sales for myself. I’m about spent out now and you may be too, but grab a cup of coffee or tea or water and kick back for a minute to peruse my December purchases. You may want to snatch these up with your gift cards and Christmas money or put them on your wish list for later. This list includes things I bought, I gifted, and things I received.

1 Kindle Oasis- This was my gift from my husband this year. I mostly wanted it to take to the beach, pool and camping. I used to read via the Kindle app on my ipad but I can’t take that outside. This is the lightest device ever. It feels like I’m holding a credit card and reading. It’s taking a little adjusting but I’m going to love being able to take it with me on trips.

2 Kindle Oasis Water-Safe Fabric Cover Since I got the Oasis for Christmas, I ordered a cover for it. If you have a Kindle Oasis, you really need a cover. The cover makes it feel so much more like a real book and so much easier to handle.

3 MTM AC4C 4 can ammo crate– My mom got the flu ten days before Christmas! She wasn’t able to get out and do her shopping so it was Amazon Prime to the rescue. My brother had several things on his wish list that my hubby found on Amazon. This ammo can was one of those things. When it arrived the hubby was very impressed with it and says this is a steal for this item (it was less than $20 when we got it so watch for a price drop.) If you have a gun/ammo-loving guy to shop for, consider this. He also wanted this rifle case and some DVDS that we found on Amazon Prime.

4 Plum Feathers cashmere feel scarf For the price, I’m happy with the quality. It is nice and soft.

5 Dremel Powered Electric Screwdriver– My hubby loves all things Dremel and we gave one of these to my dad. It’s perfect for small jobs inside the house.

6 Realtree camo clog– My dad has a pair of these that he has almost worn out and my mom wanted to replace them for him. She couldn’t find them anywhere near home, so Amazon Prime came through.

7 Allegra K Houndstooth Cardigan with tie belt Some of Amazon’s clothing is not so great when it comes to quality, but this met my expectations. See more of it here.

8 Prayer Journal for Women– I completed the entire Bible in 2019 with the Bible App chronological plan. Now I want to go back and dig deeper and I need something to keep me focused, so I ordered this after Christmas for the new year.

9 Truck with tree ornament- I had to have a red truck with a tree for my tiered tray.

10 Unicorn reversible sequin pillow cover– Our 8-year-old great niece is into sequins and unicorns, so we got her this pillow cover and a pillow. She loved it. She is also into Polly Pocket so we got her this set.

11 Under Armour No Show Socks– Not all that exciting but sometimes you need socks, and quality does make a difference when you are running or working out.

12- Bagsmart Jewelry organizer I received this as a gift. I have a jewelry case for travel but needed one just a little bigger that would hold earrings better. This is a nice quality case.

13- Real Techniques Brushes My two most used shadow brushes! I asked for replacements for Christmas and my mother-in-law gifted me a set.

14- Otago collapsible straws– I hate paper straws, and even worse when the waitress doesn’t give me a straw at all, so I requested these and was gifted a set. They won’t take up much room in my purse and I will always have a straw! They are soft and a little rubbery feeling, so beware if the texture is a big deal with you. I think they are much better than the soggy paper straws.

15- At-a-glance 2020 planner– I’ve been using a homemade planner in a folder for blog planning, but now I’ll be using this one. You get a monthly view and then a weekly breakdown with plenty of room to make notes about blog post ideas for the day, etc. The pages are high quality and should hold up nicely to all the turning and flipping I will be doing.

The hubby got a new vehicle at the end of October and has been outfitting it with accessories over the past month. Seriously, everything is on Amazon!

I added a few things to my closet from other places as well, mostly replacements for existing pieces.

1 Vince Camuto split neck top in leopard- I’ve been searching for a new leopard top for a while as my old one is tight in the bust. This tunic is perfect for tucking in or wearing out tunic style.

2 JCrew Factory cotton-wool teddie sweater- this makes the third one of these I own. My old camel sweater needed replacing as it was worn, picked, and shrunken to the point that it pulled up in the back when I sat and leaned forward. I snagged this one when it went on sale.

3- Croft and Barrow cardigan– I have leopard shoes, belts, tops, skirts, so why not a cardigan? After a failed attempt to get one from Amazon, I ordered this one from Kohl’s. I wear it in a petite medium and snagged it for $15, half the cost of the Amazon one that just wasn’t up to par on the quality.

4 Time and Tru plaid shirt– A replacement for a plaid shirt of similar colors that has gotten too snug. For the price, I’m super pleased with this shirt.

5- Ann Taylor Reese Houndstooth Bow Pumps– A splurge for me, but I love shoes. I know I’ll get my cost per wear over time and these will liven up the work wear. I wear a 7.5M and they fit me true to size.
