What I Bought In May: Amazon Prime and More

A new month! That means I’ll be recapping the last month this week. Today I’m sharing not only my Amazon Prime purchases, but several of my May purchases from other places. I haven’t shopped Amazon much in the past couple of months, but I still enjoy the convenience when I do. I’ve been shopping some other places getting my closet ready for summer.

Let’s start with Amazon.

1- Bed Head After Party – This stuff tames the frizzies and makes my hair shine. It was cheaper from Amazon than Ulta or any other place, so I ordered a replacement from Amazon when the last bottle ran out.

2 Jergens Instant Sun- I keep this on subscribe and save now but they were out of my preferred color of Portable Utensil Set– Going back to the office full time in May meant it was time to get my lunch situation organized. For years I’ve been throwing my utensils in my lunch back as is, and that means sometimes the knife pokes the bag. I’ve been meaning to get something like this for a long time. This one serves its purpose but the knife doesn’t cut an apple well. At least I have the case.

4 Bentgo Lunch Box- I carry all the leftovers to work for lunch, so that means I sometimes carry multiple containers in my bag. This divided box helps reduce the number of containers I carry, and it has utensils that attach to the lid.

5 Hanes Jersey Shorts- Sweat shorts are becoming all the rage now that it’s summer and we have to give up sweat pants. Seems like folks don’t want to give up comfy clothes after a year of quarantine. I’ve always had a similar pair of these for lounging around at home (even when they weren’t trendy) but my old pair was probably 15-20 years old. Time for a replacement! These are super comfy and at this price, I might just order the other three colors. I’m wearing a medium.

6 Vercord purse organizer- I ordered a large and medium size for my mom for Mother’s Day. I use these daily and love them. I’ve had mine for a few years and they have held up well.

What else did I buy in May?

All the summer clothes. Some of them were purchased over the weekend, so I’ll share them later when they arrive and I know they are keepers.

1 Target Flutter Sleeve top in gingham- It’s dressy enough to wear to work, and can be dressed down for casual summer wear. It’s a lightweight rayon/nylon blend. I wear a small.

2 Slub Cotton-Modal V-Neck T-Shirt from Banana Republic in cool beige. Soft and a good basic.

3 Old Navy High Waist Linen blend shorts– I love the comfy pull on waistband and the linen is so cool for summer. I like them so much I bought them in black, flax and a replacement pair in olive for my old pair that’s too big.

4 Old Navy High Waisted Denim shorts – I tried these during an in-store purchase and really liked them. The five inch inseam is my favorite length in shorts that are more fitted. Once I made my mind up on the best shades, I returned the in store purchase and bought them online in this blue and in white. There is always usually an online discount you can use with Old Navy that makes an online purchase cheaper than in store. Today there is a 25% discount.

5 Old Navy star tank– Luxe tanks and tees are my favorite for the drape and coolness of the fabric. This star print is perfect for summer.

Be sure to see my full Old Navy summer try on.

6 Caslon flutter sleeve top- I’m totally smitten with this style of sleeve. This top is smooth and cool. I ordered in my regular size of small even though it recommends sizing down. I’m happy with the fit.

7. JCrew Factory flutter sleeve top– Another one. I told you I love this style. And I love all of these colors!

8 Kendra Scott Zorte Hoop– These are a hoop earring that go in like a stud! I’m still wearing a mask at work so my mask won’t catch on these like they do with my hook style earrings. I’m also just a sucker for Kendra Scott. I purchased these from my Rocksbox box this month. I love that I can look at something first and then decide to buy it for a discount with my Rocksbox membership. You can try it free for a month! It’s like renting 3 pieces of jewelry for a month with no commitment to buy. Return your box for three more pieces whenever you like.
