Happy Friday! I’ve put in many miles on the road this week, so I’m happy to see my favorite day arrive. There’s just something about Friday that says “we made it” “things have been accomplished” or maybe just “thank goodness, it’s over.”
There’s not much going on over here except for working, eating and a little shopping, but of course I have my favorites in those departments.
First, I have to give out shout out to this girl- Bella! She is 12 today. That kind of makes me sad because the reality is that the days left ahead with her are fewer than those passed. She is the best companion and the smartest dog I’ve ever owned. She got a new bed for her birthday but she’s not too happy that we made her lie down for a picture. She is more interested in having breakfast. She will have a little ice cream later tonight because that’s one of her favorites, next to bananas. She can hear a banana peel break all the way across the house and comes running to take your banana away.
We have been slowly working on our yards. We had some drainage work and more landscaping done last year and finally got all of the fencing replaced this year so the hubby bought a firepit to celebrate. We have been sitting around our fire in the evenings on the weekends while it’s still cool and the humidity is not too thick. There is just something so relaxing about a fire. This one thing has me wanting to do all sorts of landscaping, put in a pergola or gazebo, flowers, new chairs… yeah, I’ll keep dreaming because it’s baby steps around here.
We have discovered a new favorite gluten free pasta- Banza. I’ve been picking it up from my local Publix. It’s made from chickpeas and it’s the closest thing to real spaghetti and pasta we have found since going gluten free in 2013. We even had macaroni and cheese for Easter!
I popped into Target the other day to look at a few things. I had a specific list which included a particular necklace but ended up leaving with these earrings, a pair of shoes and a new tote. The necklace inspired the earring purchase because they coordinate but aren’t “matchy matchy”. I’ve now worn the earrings way more than the necklaces.
I’ve been looking to add a few more short to medium length necklaces to my accessories, but extenders are a great way to change up the length of the shorter necklaces you already own.
Thankfully, all my purchases were on sale. The tote was a replacement to one I had been carrying. When I went to leave one morning last week, the strap was broken. The pin in the hardware is missing so there is no fixing it. I guess it was broken when I put it down the evening before and I just didn’t notice.
While looking for the items I purchased to link, I found some more things at Target that would make my favorite list:
Hope you have a great weekend!
