I’m happy to see Friday again, even if it’s a busy one! Work continues to be demanding and I’m still working lots of overtime. I feel like my blog is suffering. Heck, everything in my life is suffering right now because of the demands of work. This too shall pass and I will be back to blogging more consistently again. Please stand by…
I’m not a big TV watcher, but I’ve watched more TV lately than I have in possibly a year. Most of the time I do not like what the husband is watching but sometimes I make an effort to watch some things with him, even if I’m multitasking at something else.

This past week we found some pretty good things to watch on Amazon Prime and Netflix. If you don’t have Amazon Prime, get it now. You get lots of great movies, books, and other benefits in addition to the free shipping. Try it free for 30 days.
Please Stand By starring Dakota Fanning is a movie about a girl named Wendy who has autism. She is highly functioning and writes a screenplay for a Star Trek screenplay contest. To submit her entry on time, she sneaks out of her group home and embarks on a journey in the outside world to Los Angeles. The girl has her capsule wardrobe all figured out too- a uniform of sweaters and jeans with a different color sweater for each day of the week.
The Story of Luke is the story of a young man with autism who sets out to get a job and a girlfriend. There were some cute and funny parts. For some reason, my husband was on kick watching movies about autism.
Molly is another good one about a young woman with mental disabilities but a very bright spirit.
We also watched Kevin Beacon in Digging to China. He plays a mentally handicapped young man who meets Harriett, a full of life little girl who has always dreamed of digging to China.
Miracle Run is another movie about autistic twins and their single mother’s fight to have them in school and educated. It’s based on a true story. The movie production could have been better, but the story is inspiring.
We binged through Season 1 of Firefly Lane this weekend and week on Netflix. The characters are based on the Kristin Hannah book Firefly Lane, but the story starts out on a totally different plot. I read and loved the book. I usually find book to screen adaptations disappointing. I have a feeling this will be a series I love to hate. I like the Kate and Tully characters in the series but I want to slap each of them for different reasons. The direction the series takes is a little disappointing too if you loved the Kate and Johnny love story in the book. There were still many moments that tug on your emotions, so it’s worth watching.
Last night we discovered The Crew. Kevin James plays a Nascar crew chief in a comedy about life in the garage. I actually found it funny. So many good one liners! Most modern comedy falls flat for me and comes across as stupid instead of funny, but I laughed a lot at this one.
We noticed that we can now watch Season 3 of Good Girls on Netflix, so we will be digging into that one soon too.
Tonight just might be a good night to put on my favorite joggers and cardigan, and snuggle under my favorite throw.
I hope all of you in the wake of the ice, snow and power losses stay warm and comfy.
