My Amazing Health and Fitness Journey in 2020

2020- This is a year we will never forget. It’s been hard and stressful, but somewhere in there, I managed to find a silver lining. I was offered a free round of Faster Way to Fat Loss and decided to take up the offer. You can read about my six-week review and results here. I began a fitness journey like no other, and I plan to continue in the coming year.

The Faster Way to Fat Loss is a fitness and nutrition program that incorporates intermittent fasting, macro nutritioncarb cycling, and workouts to burn fat in the most efficient way possible. But there are tons of other benefits besides just burning fat! It’s not a diet. You are going to eat lots of food.

I had read about the program before and had even tried to do some of it on my own with little success. I was skeptical about having any major results but decided to give it a try.

I was already doing some of the things involved in the Faster Way to Fat Loss- intermittent fasting (but not a tight enough of a window), exercising – running and strength training, and we were already gluten-free, but pounds didn’t seem to budge anymore and it was so frustrating. I wasn’t extremely overweight or obese, but I didn’t feel good about myself. I really wanted to be leaner and fitter. And so my fitness journey began.

My fitness journey – From bustin’ at the seams to “Where the heck is my belt?”

I knew it would involve some commitment and work on my part and whereas I didn’t really have time to properly count macros before, the dust had settled on the adjustment to teleworking and I found myself with a few extra minutes most days. I certainly didn’t have anything to lose, except a few pounds.

And I did exactly that – I lost a few pounds and inches but gained so much more on this fitness journey. I’ve gained physical and mental strength, confidence, and a renewed excitement about getting up every day and working out, and going on with my day. I typically work out five days a week and take the other two as rest days, but there are recovery-type workouts for those days as well if you choose to do them. Sometimes I go for a walk.

After the six weeks ended, I was so impressed with the results and the way I felt, that I enrolled in the VIP program and happily pay the monthly fee every month. I have no idea what a gym membership costs because I have always been a “workout at home” type, but the fee has to be much cheaper considering you get workouts led by coaches who offer tons of advice on the proper way to perform the exercises and modifications if you need them. The workouts are offered in three versions for every workout day of the week. You also get access to coaches if you have more questions or concerns and you receive weekly meal plans and recipes. Does your gym give you a meal plan? There is also a ton of bonus material in the app and often free goodies are provided to go along with special challenges for the VIP group.

The first six weeks teach you how to make the proper lifestyle changes to be the healthiest, happiest, and fittest version of yourself but much of the magic happens by sticking with this and making it a part of your daily life. I continue to follow the program elements and at the end of six months, I have lost a total of 8 pounds and 5 and 1/2 inches. That may not sound like much to you, but it’s getting harder and harder to hold my pants up around here, lol. I’m down to a size 4 and I haven’t been a size 4 since… never! I pretty much started out my adult life as a size 6 and have been up to a 10 in a few brands before, but I’m pretty much a solid size 4 to 6 now. If I wore it in an 8 before, I wear a 6 and if I wore it in a 6, I wear a 4 now. Based on the loosening of some more of my pants, I may see more inches lost when I take my measurements at the end of the week. But those numbers really don’t matter. I feel AMAZING!

Here is my progression from May to the end of the first six weeks to November 30, 2020, just a little over six months on this program.
