Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. 46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” 47 Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!” 48 Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink. 49 The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.” 50 And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Matthew 27:45-50
Happy Good Friday! I couldn’t be more excited about this holiday weekend even in spite of the fact that I can’t physically go and do. Maybe I’m more excited for that reason. With quarantines and sheltering, I’m sure everyone has had moments to decide what’s really important in life- what you miss and what you don’t, what you thought you liked and now it’s not so important. Maybe you have found some things that are more important than you realized or that you take for granted. I’m incredibly grateful for the sacrifice my Savior made for me on this day in history and filled with hope that we will overcome this situation because He still lives! Sunday is coming and the grave will be empty!
Easter is not cancelled. It’s been Easter inside my house all week long. I was originally just going to decorate one of my tiered trays for Easter, but once I pulled out the box of decorations, I decided to do a little more.
Years ago I made this “He is Risen” banner for my mantel with some of my scrapbooking and paper crafting supplies. It’s still a favorite and has been a bright spot all week long.
The wooden Easter word was a thrift store find years ago and the wooden nesting eggs were a gift years ago. I found a cute Easter tabletop sign at Kirkland’s. While you may not be able to use it this year, I often snag holiday decor afterwards on sale and clearance for the next year.
I switched out my tiered tray to an Easter theme.
The book page eggs and the bunny car are favorites. The book page eggs are another DIY project from years ago.
I added some bunnies and eggs to the other tray but left it pretty much as it was already.
I totally forgot to photograph the other shelf that we put some Easter decor on. The hubby also made a lighted cross with a red ribbon for the front yard but it rained a couple of nights this week so I didn’t get to photograph that either.
Have a great weekend! Linking up with:
