Why You Should Embrace Neutrals

Neutrals are forecasted to be a spring trend this year, as they have been for the past couple of years. Neutrals really aren’t trendy; they are quite classic. Before you write them off as boring, consider a few reasons to embrace them.

Neutral colors are easy to put together and always look polished. They coordinate so well, you can’t go wrong.

The key to not having a boring neutral outfit is to mix shades, textures and patterns. This blazer has been on repeat this past winter. It combines both neutral color and some interest with the subtle plaid pattern.

Neutral pieces are extremely versatile and can be repeated more often. A neutral piece doesn’t stand out like its neutral counterpart, so you can wear it on repeat without anyone really noticing.

You can still add color to a neutral outfit. Do it in small does with jewelry, scarves or shoes. I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago when it was still a little premature to don a spring outfit, so I added a bit of winter color with my shoes. Accessories and jewelry can also add a little more texture to a neutral outfit. Notice how the mixed metal pendant works so well with the blazer and adds a little more texture.
