Hello and Happy Monday. I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day weekend.
Welcome to 9 to 5 Style! The third Monday of every month Jennie of A Pocketful of Polka Dots and I will showcase a theme featuring our individual takes on a professional look. Our aim is to inspire and show professional style does not have to mean boring and without personality. We hope you enjoy our 9 to 5 Style!Today we are taking an outfit from desk to date night. Sometimes it’s nice to go out to dinner after work or to a special event, but there isn’t a lot of time to change into a whole new outfit. Don’t worry- with just a couple of changes you can be date night ready without having to come up with a whole new outfit.

The daytime work outfit consists of black ankle pants, a cami and a blazer. Black pumps complete the look.
A cami is a versatile piece to have in your closet. They work great with blazers and suits but also make cute date night tops.
To go from desk to date night, just swap the blazer for something a little edgier- a moto jacket.
If you don’t like wearing heels after an eight hour day, swap them for booties.
Jacket- Nordstrom; booties- Blondo/ Nordstrom option option option
I usually have had enough of my heels after a work week, so I don’t usually wear them on weekends or evenings unless I absolutely have to. Making the swap to booties is a little more in my comfort zone. Black booties would work with this ensemble, but I wanted to make it just a little edgier with the snakeskin booties.
The pants and top stayed the same and just a couple of pieces were swapped to make a fun edgy date night outfit. You might have noticed that I went from a nude lip to a bolder lipstick too. The jewelry stayed the same for both outfits but swapping to a bold statement earring is another way to give an outfit a date night vibe.
Other easy swaps-
Keep the blazer and top and swap your bottoms for jeans.
If you wear flats to work, swap to heels, or swap for a strappy sandal or bright-colored pump.
Swap you work tote or satchel for a shiny, dainty bag or clutch.
