It’s another edition of What I Wore Lately vs What I Wore This Week. I’m still catching up from Christmas. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Take a break and enjoy some outfit inspiration.

These are a mix of my daily looks from work and weekends and off work days. I had several of those off days this month as I had to use up some leave (use or lose). Let’s get started.
If I go out of the house to do more than run a quick errand, I usually dress up a little more, but I wore this sweater and leggings outfit to my parents house to celebrate their birthdays. I chose this for comfort as I bought my mother a new Christmas tree for her birthday (that’s what you get when you are a 79 year old Dec baby, lol) and I fully decorated it for her that day. I have the sweater in another color and the leggings in another pattern- they are that good!

Sweater- Old Navy; leggings- Old Navy; shoes Asics; ear crawlers- JCrew Factory; similar; necklace- Gorjana option
We did a mini Christmas family photo shoot on a Sunday afternoon. This is what I wore. It was chilly outside that day but I didn’t want to wear a coat or jacket and have my movement restrained so I wore the sweater with a Cuddle Duds thermal underneath.

Sweater- Loft; similar; option; jeans- Old Navy; similar; boots- Sam Edelman; option; option; necklace- Rocksbox; earrings- Nordstrom
Work A little pattern mixing here with the pinstripe blazer and patterned blouse.

Blazer- old; blouse- Nordstrom (old); pants- Loft; shoes- Nordstrom
Work- We have a Christmas luncheon at work each year. Several agencies from within our building attend. I donned a velvet blazer and leopard blouse for work that day. The blouse is new. It’s a tunic style but soft and thin enough to tuck into work pants. I can also wear it with leggings and skinny jeans.

Blazer- thrifted; option; blouse- Nordstrom; pants- Loft; shoes- Nordstrom
I wore this outfit to run errands on a Friday when I was off work.

Sweater- Old Navy (old); option; option; jeans- AOS; option boots- Target; option socks- Gold Toe
Sunday church– I wore this sweater again two days later to church layered over a chambray and with burgundy jeans. There is no burgundy in the sweater but it still works. Don’t be afraid to try color combos in an outfit that don’t exactly “match”.

Sweater- Old Navy (old); option chambray- Old Navy; jeans- NYDJ; booties- Vince Camuto similar
Work– We have cool but not too cold days so I mix pieces of different weights. The wool blazer worked perfectly with this lighter long sleeve blouse. I actually only wear this blouse in the cooler seasons as it requires a cami underneath and that’s just too much for warmer weather. I paired this with navy pants as I have not worn the navy pants in a while.

Blazer- JCrew Factory; similar blouse- old; pants- Loft; shoes- Payless
Work– temps dropped again. I wanted something warm and festive for my last day before my holiday break but not something that screamed I have on a Christmas outfit. A velvet blazer and a statement necklace work great for this.

Blazer- thrifted; sweater- JCPenney; pants- Loft
Friday night dinner out- We were meeting friends for dinner (or supper as we call it ’round here). I had a hair appointment too and didn’t have much time to change in between so I kept the basic outfit formula from above (and the same sweater) and modified it to casual. Grey trousers to grey jeans, snakeskin pumps to booties and blazer to moto.

Moto- BlankNYC; sweater- JCPenney; jeans- NYDJ; boots- Blondo
Saturday- The Saturday before Christmas we had a newborn photo shoot. I really should not have worn a sweater because you have to crank the heat up to around 80 to get the baby to sleep and cooperate. However, it was cool outside and I anticipated going other places when we were done so I just opted to be warm during the shoot and a little cool in and out the rest of the day. I wanted to be comfortable because I bend and move a lot setting up and working photo shoots. I was comfortable but after looking at these pics I think this sweater is just too drab for me and it’s too long for boot cut jeans.

Sweater- Old Navy (old); jeans- Levis boot cut; necklace – Etsy; ankle boots- Blondo
