Happy Friday! It’s that season… the most wonderful time of the year. I really do like the Christmas season when I have time to slow down and think about it so I thought I’d share some of my favorites things of the season.
1 The reason! Jesus is the reason for the season! Let’s not forget or overlook that. All of the other would be void of any meaning if I didn’t know the One we celebrate. I pray your Christmas means more than just decorations, gifts, etc.
2 Timers! Yes, timers. We bought these last year for some of our lights and these are game changers. We put candles in the windows of our house and start out strong plugging them in each night. Then we get slack because it’s such a pain to go room to room to unplug them, along with all the other things that need to be unplugged. The timers make that so much easier and now our candles glow all season.
3 Tiered trays– I finally invested in some of these right before fall, so now they are favorites of my Christmas decor as well. Even my hubby likes the trays and comments on them. I can’t decide which tray is my favorite. One holds some village miniatures.
I’ve had all of figures for years, but my village houses stay out year round on top of my kitchen cabinets because I don’t have a place to set up a village each year. The mini figures are too small to see up there so I’m thrilled to have a new way to display them One of my favorites is the photographer. The little red truck is new- an ornament from Amazon because I just had to have a red truck, lol.
The other tray holds some wooden blocks from Michael’s and some miscellaneous things but I like it’s simplicity too.
This tray holds a little red wagon that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. Red wagons have a special place in my heart because my grandmother had a wagon that she used around the yard. She pulled her laundry to and from the clothes line and hauled all sorts of things around in that wagon. If you saw her outside at home, you saw an apron, a bonnet, and that red wagon was not far away.
4 Music! What’s the season without Christmas carols and songs? I cranked up my playlist this week as I finished decorating my tree. Some of my favorites from my playlist are Stevie Nicks Silent Night, Bob Seger’s Little Drummer Boy and just for fun Bruce Springsteen or Otis Redding’s Merry Christmas Baby! Really the whole A Very Special Christmas is a great album and a favorite.
5 Chocolate oranges! Chocolate is a year round favorite but I love that these chocolate oranges come out each year. Yum!
What are your Christmas favorites? Have a great weekend!
