The entryway is the first spot your guests see when they come into your home. It can set the stage for the rest of your home. You may have a room that opens into the rest of the room or it may simply be like my home and be the doorway opening into the rest of the home.
We don’t have much wall space at our entryway because it’s a fairly open floor plan but I’ve been in search of a skinny console/cabinet that might store DVDs and such since we lost a huge chunk of storage when we got rid of our ottoman with the old living room set. It has to be 12 inches in width or less because the door opens along that wall. My search for a cabinet has me thinking about ways to decorate an entryway so I though I’d share a couple of ideas for this month’s Style My Home.

Cozy– If you have the space, create a cozy entryway with a bench, a throw and some pillows. Express your home’s sentiment with some artwork or word art above the bench. Add a natural touch with a plant next to bench.

Simple- Create an elegant yet simple entryway with just a few pieces. Place a rustic console table along a wall and adorn it with a vase of flowers and some wire baskets. Hang a circular mirror above the table.
