I stopped by Target this weekend and tried on some things that caught my eye to share with you. I see the best things from Target online and from other bloggers and then my local store just doesn’t have it or just doesn’t appeal to me. I used to buy a lot of my clothing at Target, but since their brand and lines changed, I’ve had difficulty finding things in my store that I really like. I was quite pleased that quite a few things caught my eye this time. And it’s all under $25! Well, almost- one piece comes in just under $30.

For sizing reference, I’m 5’2″ and 150 pounds. I wear a small to medium, 6 to 8, depending on where I shop. Target brands tend to run a little small for me, so I’m in mediums and 8s in most of these.
Universal Threads denim shirt dress- I tried this on in a medium but could wear a small. Go drop one of these in your cart right now! A denim or chambray dress is a super versatile piece that you can wear year round. I have a chambray dress I bought from Target years ago and if I were looking to replace it, this would be the replacement. It’s super soft and comfy, and will hold its shape. I’m wearing it with A New Day Winona Leopard ankle strap sandals. Yep, the sandals came home with me. For 19.99, I could not leave a pair of leopard sandals behind. I would usually wait for a sale or discount, but I paid full price just to make sure I didn’t miss these. They were comfy while I was standing and trying on clothing and I know I will have the cost per wear to pennies by the end of summer. I mean- leopard! I wear a 7.5, these are true to size.

A New Days Stripe Elbow puff sleeve shirt with Levis Denizen High Rise shorts- I’m wearing a medium in the shirt and 8 in the shorts. Ladies who want some upper arm coverage- this top is for you. I didn’t find these shorts to be too much of a high rise, but ample for my curvy behind. I don’t usually like high rise bottoms because I’m short waisted, but these are perfect. They are soft and comfortable. A winner in my book for a pair of denim shorts. Pictured with A New Day Wilma Ankle Strap Wedge sandal. These sandals also come in black and white, but I did not see the white in my store. These are just the slightest wedge and give just a little lift, perfect for those of you that don’t like super tall wedges but still want a tiny bit of height. Also true to size in a 7.5 for me.

Xhileration Floral Print Cropped Wide leg pants Let me rant here. What in the what is up with all of the wide leg pants and jumpsuits having a crotch that hangs to the knees? All of Target’s jumpsuits did this and I know better than to even try them, so I took these pants into the fitting room. They are super cute, but of course not as cropped on me as they would be on most. They are just a definite no due to the weird long crotch.

Universal Threads short sleeve v-neck plaid top and Universal Threads High Rise Button Fly shorts This little top is a fun one and the red looks so good with olive. It would pair well with white or navy too for Memorial Day weekend and Fourth of July. Buttons are trending for summer too. The shorts are soft and stretchy but a little thick and despite the thick material you can see pocket outlines, at least on me. Maybe it would not be so noticeable on someone with slimmer thighs. I’m wearing an 8. I’d probably wear these around the house for a few hours too like I do with jeans before making a final decision on fit, because they may stretch out a little. Again, even though they are called high rise, they were not too high, just ample for a curvy bottom.

Here are the shorts again with a basic tee, so you can see the button fly detail better. What’s not to love about Target’s $8 tees?! They are some of my favorite.

Short Sleeve Scoop Neck dress– on sale for $15 right now! Soft and comfy. Enough said. Longer in the back than front, as shown in the second picture. This is my kind of dress for hot, humid summers in the South. It’s like wearing your pajamas, but it’s a dress, so you have to be dressed up, right? Well, this is on the casual side, but I didn’t want to take it off. I’m wearing a medium and probably could wear a small. It just all depends on how loose of a fit you want. It would be a fun swimsuit cover up too, easy on, easy off.

A New Day Striped Square Neck Tee and New Day Hight Rise Chinos in 5″ inseam I can’t believe I’m posting this picture, because these look horrible on me, but I’m still smitten with the idea of this outfit. This rust striped top is perfect with the pink. I like a square neck top too, but this one is ribbed and clingy and too long. It’s creating way too many rolls for me. If you are just a bit taller and slimmer, go for it. The shorts are nice but they don’t fit me well either. Too much pulling and wrinkling across the thigh. I’m in a medium in the shirt and 8 in shorts. I didn’t try the 10 either because part of the problem is that they are a little too long in the crotch. A bigger size won’t help that. But if you can see past how bad these look on me, these two pieces make a cute outfit.

Hop over to Target and stock up for summer. You won’t regret any of these. Linking here.
