I say this every week, but I’m so glad it’s Friday! Come 5 p.m., I am crawling in bed and I dare anyone to ask anything of me. It’s been three solid weeks of getting up between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. every morning with non stop going with both of us sick for a week. Stick a fork in, I’m done! I have zero plans for this weekend and that’s perfect. I am not getting up at 6 a.m. this Saturday, maybe not even until noon.
Five favorites and random things this week. (This post contains affiliate links. I make a small commission from your purchases through these links. Thanks for your support.)
1 What I’ve Been Wearing Lately
We attended a retirement party for a former coworker/friend of my husband’s last weekend. This is what I wore. I knew it would not be formal but opted for dressy casual. I’d always rather be a little over dressed than under dressed. Most of the attendees were in business casual or dress casual, polos or collared shirts for men and khaki pants, women in dresses, trousers and blouses. I was quite comfortable. A blazer with jeans and some heels will usually work for this scenario, especially white jeans.

Blazer- JCPenney; blouse- TJMaxx; jeans- Loft; sandals- Franco Sarto option
2- One of my favorite things is having outfit ideas at the ready, whether they are saved to my Pinterest boards or pulled from a capsule. Having the GYPO Style Challenge capsules makes life so much easier when I don’t want to think about what to wear. I pull up one of the capsules and then go to my closet and pull out the pieces or pieces that most closely align with the formula and get dressed. Both the Spring 2019 Capsule and the Spring 2019 Work Wear Capsule have been reduced. Now is a great time to snag one.

3- Favorite highlighter- Trestique. I received this in an sample box a couple of years ago and I have been hooked since. I use this on my cheekbones and just around the outside of my eyes and inside corners of my eyes for an awake and subtly bright glow.

4- Chocolate for breakfast! This weeks breakfast has included chocolate muffins every day. I’ve tried this protein version and this version that does not include protein powder and will go back to both in the future.
5- Favorite book of the month- I completed 11 books last month. I set a goal of 24 books for this year and I’ve now read 30. I bumped my goal up to 40 books, but I will likely reach that soon. I say “read” loosely because I listened to some of these on audible and scribd about 50% of the time. So what was my favorite book last month? The Eighth Sister by Robert Dugoni. This is a free book if you have Kindle Unlimited or free with prime reading if you are a prime member.
It’s a thriller about a former CIA agent, Charles Jenkins, who takes up an offer to go back to work for the CIA because he is having financial trouble. He goes on a mission to Moscow, only to find out things aren’t what he was led to believe. This book wastes no time in getting into the fast paced action. Jenkins has to make an escape back home to the U.S. but the story does not end there. He is deserted by the agency and tried for espionage. Once again he is in a fight for his life and freedom. You can’t help but pull for Charles Jenkins and be a fan of him the whole time. I will definitely read more from this author.
