Fri-YAY! I’m looking forward to a busy weekend celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior! We have a good Friday service tonight and it’s always a powerful one. We will also be visiting family this weekend and then church again Sunday.

Here are my favorites of the week:
1- Last weekend the hubby and I went to a nearby wildlife reserve and went on a hike. He would go every day if it were possible. Getting out in nature always puts the busyness of life on hold and relaxes us. It’s one of our favorite things to do. Here are some of the sights we saw. While we were hiking we heard what sounded like cats fighting in the brush. We could not see them. When I say cats, I mean bob cats or wild cats, big ones. There are large wild hogs out there also. We stopped to listen and then heard something barreling straight toward us. I jumped a good way back up the trail behind my husband as I was picturing a big hog or wild cat jumping out to attack. Imagine my surprise when two baby armadillos came scurrying out. They ran right past us with no thought for us. Later we saw the bigger one below. For two little creatures, they made an awful lot of noise!

2- Free stuff! Who doesn’t love free stuff. I canceled my Kindle Unlimited subscription when it kicked up to full price. I have so many books purchased and saved to read already, some on the Kindle and some print versions that I picked up at the thrift store and from years ago that I won’t really miss the subscription. I do miss that I was getting some books with audible narration so I could listen at times, but at least now I will be exercising my brain in another way. You can try Kindle Unlimited free and it’s definitely worth doing so, but you can also read books for free as a Prime member. I was tickled to see that some of the books still on my Kindle Unlimited list are now available at Prime reading, so I will still be able to read them. Some of the books I’ve already read that you can now read free with Prime are A Curve in the Road, Say You’re Sorry, and The Miracle Morning.
3 My favorite beauty product– Urban Decay Optical Illusion Complexion Primer I didn’t even know I needed primer until I was in my forties. Once I started trying a few, I found them to be too thick, too matte, too weird, etc. But I love this one! I wear it whether or not I wear foundation, and on most days I don’t wear foundation. This primer moisturizes and smooths out the skin, perfect for perfecting skin without using foundation.

4- What I’ve been wearing lately– white sneakers and striped tees! Two more of my favorite things! The best $8 tee to be exact. And these earrings on repeat. They are so light I forget I’m wearing them. Favorite go to pieces.

Cardigan- JCPenney; option; option tee- Target $8!; Jeans- Nordstrom; similar; sneakers- Amazon; earrings- Amazon

Utility jacket- JCPenney; tee- Target; option jeans- Nordstrom, sneakers- Amazon, bag- Old Navy; earrings- Amazon
This isn’t the greatest photo of these jeans, but I replaced my black jeans with this pair. They are heavenly. Soft as butter, as the name implies. High rise but not too high. I’m rather short waisted and can’t wear high rise, but the rise on these is just high enough to be ample for a curvy bottom without being too high in the front.
5- The Cents of Style Fashion Friday deal is a good one. 40% off spring dresses with code DRESSES40 Look how cute these button front dresses are:

When you are done shopping at Cents of Style, hop over to Jane and get one of these cute kimonos to throw over your new dress. I’m smitten with this stripe button front skirt and this camo shirt that comes in several colors. Camo doesn’t have to be green! Go ahead and get Grandma that Mother’s Day gift too- this personalized wood sign is perfect! The fashionista mom might like this eyelash coffee mug too.
Hope you have a great weekend! Linking here.
