February Purchases: Reviews and Thoughts

The budget was restored along with our paychecks, so it feels like I spent double in February after barely spending in January. There was also Valentine’s Day, so that accounted for a little extra splurging. I ordered a few things from retailers online, but most purchases were from Amazon. What’s not to love about Amazon?

February purchases from JCrew Factory, JCPenney and AmazonPin

- JCrew Factory ruffle sleeve camp shirt – This is such a comfy shirt and will be perfect for spring and summer. Get more details about my JCrew Factory order here.

- JCrew Factory boatneck top– A great piece for work, but could be worn with jeans to dress up a casual outfit too.

- JCPenney Worthington round neck blouse– I picked up the black floral in the store. I little thin and you may be more comfortable with a cami underneath but still a pretty blouse for work and dressy casual situations.

- Hyaluronic acid- This supplement is being used in lots of skin care products but I stumble upon the fact that you can take it orally. Most things work better from the inside out so I ordered these to try and see if makes a difference in my skin or joint health.

- Vital Proteins Collagen peptides– Everyone is raving about this stuff. Collagen is another one of those things that probably works better from the inside out rather than being applied topically. I ordered this to try because I have some sore joints, creaking and popping sometimes. It will take some time to tell if this works, but so far I can report that I’m using it in my coffee. Some people complain about it altering the taste, but it really hasn’t for me. Some days I think there’s a hint of an aftertaste, but not enough to complain. For now I’m using one scoop. If I also make a smoothie on any given day, I add another scoop to the smoothie.

and 7- I also picked up this blazer and ankle pants at JCPenney. I will have a full JCPenney try on and review later on the blog, but these fit true to size and feel good on.

- Color block striped cardigan– I’m in love with this cardigan. Get one now. It can totally be a spring workhorse in your closet. I ordered it in a medium, but I think I could probably also wear the small. I like the slightly slouchy fit of the medium.

- Becca under eye setting and brightening powder– This works so much better for setting under eye concealer than regular setting powder. I was beginning to find powder too drying to my under eye area and it was becoming impossible to conceal wrinkles, but this stuff helps so much. The wrinkles aren’t going to totally disappear but this doesn’t accentuate them like regular powder was doing.

- Drop hoop earrings– A lightening deal popped up on these and I could not resist getting two pair- green and tortoise shell. A tortoise shell earring has been on my wish list for a long time. These are super lightweight.

- Crossbody purse– I’m on a kick to add some new lighter color purses to my spring wardrobe. This one looks really nice. I will say the very front outside pocket is not completely open and is stitched in from each side. These stitches tend to pop if you attempt to slide something in the front pocket and push out but not to a degree that is shows or messes up the look of anything. Perfect medium size and comes with a dust cover.

- Hobo bag– If you need a larger bag, this one is it. It’s a fairly large bag, but not quite as big as some totes. Appears well made. I ordered the apricot color which is a nice taupe shade perfect for spring. Also comes with a dust cover.

- Crossbody hobo– Cute purse but I like #12 better and will be returning this one. The beige is more of a yellow/mustard like beige vs a taupe shade.

- Schick touch up razors– Got these for my eyebrows. I like the little cover that makes the blade smaller for precision work. I may even try dermaplaning.

- Silicone bottle brush – This has nothing to do with fashion or beauty, but it was something we needed and it’s getting the job done.

- Drop hoops– Another pair of earrings. These were part of my Valentine’s gifts from the hubby. I shared my Amazon wish list with him and he came through. These are lightweight, but don’t wear them to work and plan on talking on phone all day. They aren’t really comfy for that. Wear them out when you won’t be on the phone.

- Tan towel– Another Valentine’s Day gift. After reading about these from so many other bloggers, I had to try them. I’m hooked but wish there were more in a pack. I had nice color from them and it lasted several days.
