We all have a little bit of a curiosity in us. It’s what makes posts like these so much fun. It’s fun to see a peak into the lives of others. I haven’t shared any personal bits lately because I’ve missed my Five for Friday the last couple of weeks, so today I’m playing along with Sheaffer and Shay with a monthly recap of what’s up.

What we’re eating this week: Off the Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Chips. These are a recent discovery at Sam’s. So good. We are always on the lookout for gluten/corn free snacks due to my hubby’s allergies. These are a hit with us.
What I’m reminiscing about: I have been doing a gratitude journal and the other day while doing laundry I told myself I’m grateful for modern washing machines and that I have one. That led to reminiscing about washing clothes with my grandmother as a kid. She had one of the old wringer machines that you fed your clothes through from one wash tub to the next. Then we hung the clothes on the outside clothes line. I loved to help her with this. I felt so important. And I would bug her to death to go take the clothes off the line. I couldn’t wait for them to dry so I could complete this important chore. BTW, I’m not that old, I just grew up in rural area on a farm where folks didn’t modernize quickly.
What I’m loving: This makeup organizer. I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s still in use and I’m still loving it. I can see and easily find my beauty products each morning. It makes getting ready so much easier.
What we’ve been up to: The hubby is still working on redoing and restoring a 1997 Jeep Wrangler. I randomly help hold things when he needs help. I helped him put the steering column and steering wheel back in last weekend.
What I’m dreading: The thought of another government shutdown on February 15! People can’t go without pay again.
What I’m working on: I’m going through my things and decluttering after reading Marie Kon Mari’s book. It’s a slow process because I haven’t forsaken other chores for this one. I have got to get through accessories, then shoes and the closet will be straightened out.
What I’m excited about: Reading my Bible. I committed to reading more this year, and I’m doing that partly with Audible. It hit me that I could listen/read my Bible more that way to, so I started a chronological plan in the Bible app to read the entire Bible this year. I’m on track to date! His word is coming alive for me and even though I’ve read and heard many of the stories before, I’m so much more excited about them this time around. His word has so many good things for you no matter how often you read it.
What I’m reading: I just finished Say Your Sorry by Melinda Leigh. It’s the first in a series of six with the main character and I hope they are all this good. Thanks to the Audible feature I finished this one during my hour drive to court today. Well, almost. I had a few chapters to go when I arrived at the courthouse and I was taking my lunch break there, so I finished it then. The last 7-8 chapters are page turners and you can’t walk away! Don’t even start them if you can’t finish. I’m also in the middle of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Some of it’s like a boring lecture, and some of it I agree with and get. I just haven’t gotten to the 7 habits yets, so the verdit is still out on this book.
What I’m wearing: Sweaters and boots! and thankful that we have had weather cold enough for it. I know that parts of the country are in unbearable cold right now, but I’m happy to see it was 31 here this morning. It doesn’t happen often. These boots have been a constant go to. You can see them in Monday’s post too. That green sweater is super cozy, comfy and versatile. I’ve worn it to the office too.

What I’m looking forward to next month: The hubby and I are attending a weekend long marriage conference at our church.
