Let me ask you something. Are you one of those ladies that likes the look of a blanket scarf, but you think you never get it styled just right? Or maybe, you style it just fine, but it doesn’t feel right. Just too hot, too much bulk around the neck…
Maybe you’ve considered what many have done and think you should just cut the sucker in half. Wait!
Take a deep breath and relax. I’m going to show you the easiest way to wear a blanket scarf. You will be glad you didn’t cut it.
Wear it as a poncho. It will help keep you warm, but it won’t smother you. It will still add interest and a punch of color and pattern to an outfit.
Scarf- Amazon
chambray shirt- Old Navy option option
velvet pants- Loft
All you have to do is fold it in half triangularly. Drape it around your shoulders with the two ends to the front and the triangle to the back. This works best if your top is one with a little texture to it, like the chambray shirt or a sweater with a little texture. If your shirt is too slick or silky, you may have trouble getting the blanket scarf to stay in place. I also find that it helps to pull more to the front than I think I need to. Then I can hook the scarf in the bend of my arms to help it stay in place. Of course, you would not want to wear your blanket scarf this way if you are going to be doing a super busy activity. Wearing a blanket scarf this way is more suited to going to the movies, dinner, church, a baby or bridal shower wear you will be sitting or somewhere you would be leisurely walking around. Window shopping after dinner, anyone?

Thank goodness it’s Friday. Here are five random things of interest for you for Five for Friday.
1. I watched all of the Tidying Up with Marie Kondo episodes on Netflix last weekend. Whew! I feel pretty good about my own stuff after seeing those episodes, but I do have stuff I’d like to thin out to make household cleaning and maintenance easier.
2. Deborah at Fabulous After 40 shared this link recently. I’m in awe. I think you should check it out too. This photography project really puts “age appropriate” clothing into perspective.
3. Are you doing a shopping fast this month? Shopping your closet? Style Bee has a really good article on fasting from shopping. It’s a few years old, but still relevant.
4. Somewhat Simple has a simple spaces challenge going on to help you focus on finishing those home projects.
5. Need a new budget for the new year? Dave Ramsey has a free budget app. I haven’t used it yet but I think I’ll check it out.
Have a great weekend. Don’t forget to share the easiest way to wear a blanket scarf with all your friends on social media.
