At the beginning of last week, we took a look at how to transition an office outfit from summer to fall. Let’s do the same with a casual summer outfit, and learn how to transition from summer to fall.
No need to stand in front of the closet and stress over what to wear on those warm fall days. Think back to one of your favorite summer outfits and see if it works for fall. I love the combination of red and olive and this was one of my favorite summer outfits.
Lucky for me, red is trending this fall. A few substitutes and I’ve got the perfect early fall outfit.

I replaced my olive shorts with olive jeans. I didn’t even have to come up with a new color scheme. I then switched the straw purse out for a leopard clutch and traded sandals for peep toe booties. If you can’t switch both top and bottom, pick one and make a swap. If you had an outfit you loved with white shorts, then go for white jeans with booties. White after Labor Day is totally acceptable. Wear those white jeans with a sweater for fall. Or take your favorite summer shorts and pair them with a fall sweater. Take your favorite summer top and wear it with jeans and add a cardigan. All of those summer favorites do not have to be packed away just yet. It’s easy to transition from summer to fall.
