Last week I started exploring fall trends with animal prints. This week I want to talk about the most flattering fall trend to try- ruching. Ruching a a sewing technique that pleats and folds material. Sometimes I cringe at the thought of pleated pants because they add visual weight, but these pleats are not ones to run from. Ruching, especially on tops and dresses can help camouflage extra weight and rolls. Most of this year’s fall trends are not really “trends” but classics being brought back to the forefront.
I’ve picked out a few pieces in a some categories with ruching to shop:

Tops/toppers– Ruching makes a great sleeve detail on tops, blazers and cardigans, and it’s super flattering to the mid section when the sides of a top are ruched. It’s an easy way to wear a fitted top when you are not otherwise comfortable with fitted tops.
Dresses- Again, dresses with side ruching can hide a multitude of issues.
Don’t forget you can now “heart” your favorites from the widgets and get an email notice when they go on sale. What do you thing of this new feature?
I’d love to hear your thoughts below too on ruching as a flattering fall trend, and any questions or suggestions you may have.
