What are your favorite summer trends? I love pom poms and palm prints, so I combined the two summer trends into one outfit.

I put this outfit together to go do some shopping Sunday afternoon. I got this top at the beginning of the summer and it’s been my favorite white summer top so far. There are a few left in limited sizes. It does run big, I sized down one size. I paired it with these palm print shorts from last year. These linen blend shorts are very soft and comfy. I know summer will end, so I’m trying to wear my favorite summer trends as much as I can. Gold sandals and some jewelry finished the look.
Happy Fri-yay! It’s time for Five for Friday.
1. The no spending is still going strong. No clothes, shoes, jewelry or beauty items have been purchased. I’m about to run out of my night time moisturizer but since it’s summer I can probably get by with using my day time one at night or using some samples until or unless my regular night cream is on sale. By the way, Olay Regenerist is my normal night time moisturizer. It keeps fine lines at bay and gets the job done for me. I’ve changed up a bit over the past few years as my skin has begun to age, and during the winter I need a thicker cream because my skin can get really dry, but Olay Regenerist has worked for all seasons for me for over a year now.
2. We are still eating out of the freezer/pantry with no grocery shopping this week, although I will probably make a run to the grocery store tonight. We ate out or away from home three nights this week, so progress has been a little slow. We had some simple muffins for breakfast this week that used some applesauce from the pantry; salmon, wild rice, and green beans for dinner, all from freezer and pantry; turkey burgers and fries (ground turkey and fries from freezer); and chicken thighs (from freezer) with black beans and rice (pantry.)
It comes in camo and other colors. I just love vests for fall. Do I break the shopping ban for this one?
4. More fun stuff at Jane starting today. This pleated blouse was $46.99/ now $14.99.
This hanging bath and body organizer is super cute, available in 4 patterns, and would make a great Christmas gift, if you are already thinking about that.

5. We had a frustrating week as we need to have some repairs to our house that we have been trying to get done since last October. Remember Hurricanes Matthew and Irma each dumped water in our front bedroom each year. We finally figured out water comes in around the windows and down the inside wall then out into the floor. We want the windows replaced and whatever needs to be repaired when the siding is ripped off. Getting a contractor to show up, follow through and work around here is like chasing a unicorn. For the past six weeks we have been LIED to by a contractor who was supposed to do the work and supposedly ordered windows but every time we checked those windows had not come in. I finally put the screws to his business partner only for the partner and us to find out no windows have been ordered. Moving on. Hopefully someone else is coming today to quote the job.
