Do you have those busy days where you go straight from the office to dinner or date night? No time to go home and change, but want to squeeze in that couple time? It’s super easy to transform your work outfit from desk to date night outfit.
A pencil skirt is always office appropriate but can also be quite a sexy piece for date night outfit. I’ve been a on kick to wear my skirts lately, so I pulled this one out of the closet. It used to see lots of wear, but I haven’t worn it in a while. I decided to also do a bit of fun pattern mixing by pairing the dots with florals. This sleeveless floral blouse seems to be a reader favorite. I’ve noticed that a few of you have purchased it and I hope you love it as much as I do. Not only does it work for the office and for date night with a skirt, it can be worn with jeans too. A black blazer and some conservative wedge pumps keep this outfit office appropriate. Simple black earrings complete the look.

When it’s time to head to dinner or date night, only a few changes are necessary. I shed the blazer and swapped the shoes and earrings. I also grabbed a clutch. Where a tote was probably my choice for the day (and a good one for all those things you have to take to the office and back), a clutch or small purse is a great choice for going out. You usually don’t need as many items for an evening out. You can ever carry the clutch with you in your tote and just grab the clutch when you head out.

Just a few changes and you are date night ready! No need to totally change clothes to have a date night outfit.
Tips for easily going from desk to date night outfit:
1. Start with base pieces that can be worn for both day and night. Another option to the pieces I chose might be ankle pants, a camisole and blazer for work, with a change of shoes and accessories for date night. You could ditch the blazer or swap it for a moto jacket.
2. Change your shoes. Swap conservative pumps or flats for strappy sandals or booties for night.
3. Change your accessories. Bold statement earrings rarely have a place at the office, but can be a fun addition to a date night outfit.
4. Change your makeup. Play up your eyeliner and make it a little bolder, or add a red lipstick.
With a little forethought and these four tips, you can go from desk to date night outfit in an instant.
