Happy Fourth of July everyone! I finally made it to share a red, white and blue outfit with you after all! I hope you are all enjoying the day. By now most of you have already hit the beach or pool or you are getting ready to grill. I’ve been enjoying my coffee and taking my time with this post, but if you still haven’t decided to what to wear out this evening, then maybe the weekend portion will be of some inspiration. And red, white and blue is good year round in my book.
This top was a Nsale purchase two years ago and one of my better, more utilized purchases. Nsale? You know that sale coming up in less than 10 days now (if you have a card) that EVERY BLOGGER on the the net is talking about. We will talk more about it in a bit.
First, let’s focus on this weekend wear. I wore this outfit to church last Sunday because we don’t plan on going out today or tonight. Our dog is terrified of fireworks so we will be here trying to keep her calm. I still wanted to get my red, white and blue on so I took the opportunity Sunday.

Losing the outer layer and pairing this top with white jeans makes the perfect summer outfit. I love taking my “work” tops and getting more wear out of them in weekend outfits. They are more polished than tee shirts but can still be dressed down enough to be casual.
Back to the Nsale, or Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. I will probably shop it, but I hope to be more prudent in my purchases. Who really needs sweaters in July? People, sweaters will still be available at the same price points, brand new, when you need them. That’s not to say that it’s not worth shopping the sale. I will share my picks in posts when it starts, but I will be looking for more practical things. I still have a top I’ve never worn from a couple of years ago. It’s so easy to get caught up in the hype, so be sure to read up on my 5 tips for shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. And apply for a card if you don’t have one. I only use mine a few times a year, but it gets me in at early access (July 12).
Have a great day!
