I made an online shopping haul during the Memorial Day sales. By Thursday, it looked like Christmas around here with all the packages arriving and some are yet to come. That’s not all my fault- they don’t know how to ship one order in one box. Several things from one order can come in different packages at different times. I thought I’d share my Saturday morning try on session from my online shopping haul with you. Ignore the spots on the mirror, the poor cell phone photography and the poor lighting. It is a dream/goal to find a space around here for a full length mirror with decent lighting. And if this phone ever dies, maybe I’ll get one with a decent camera.

Up first are two pieces from Loft order. I purchased the tie sleeve sweatshirt tee and slit denim skirt. Don’t let the word sweatshirt fool you. The tee is thin enough for summer. I’ve been wanting a new navy tee. My old one is getting pretty worn and I want one with some detail, like the tie sleeve detail. I searched last year and never found “the one.”
Here’s a look at the sleeve. Overall, the tee iss a loose fit. I got a small but could have sized down. I’m keeping it as it may shrink and sometimes I like the oversized fit and look.
The skirt is a great fit for me in a 6. I was worried it would not fit as I have trouble getting straight pencil skirts to fit without sizing up and have already returned a denim pencil skirt from Gap because it was just too small. The distressing is fun and the skirt has a little stretch. KEEPER! AND… it’s currently 50% off through tomorrow. My gold sandals are Aerosole. I purchased them last year- super comfy. You can still get them from Amazon.
I also purchased the Butterfly Garden Pocket drawstring skirt. Love, love love it. It has pockets and a fun print. What’s not to love? A breezy, cool piece for summer. I’m wearing a medium and it’s a loose fit. I’m not sure if a small would have fit in the hips in this one. Maybe, but I’m okay with the fit of this one. The gingham slides I’m wearing with it are new too. They are from 6pm and come in navy polka dots too.
The pom pom trim shirt pictured above and below is from JCrew Factory. It’s a nice cotton top that will be great for hot summers. It is a bit of a boxy cut. I ordered a 6 but I’m sending it back for a 4.
Here’s the back of the top. It’s cut the same as the front.
The gingham wedge sandals are Steve Madden from Macy’s. YA’LL! They are so cute and pretty stable for a wedge, even on the carpet, but the strap is too tight. I could only go to the first hole on the strap and it’s a snug fit. I know I have chunky ankles, but I’ve never had this issue with sandals. Usually I can go 2-3 holes back from the end, but not with these. SO… back these go. If you have nice slender ankles, I say give them a try, but beware if you have thick ankles like mine.
Old Navy received some of my hard earned cash as well. I picked up these gingham shorts, size 8. I always size up in Old Navy shorts, and they are never my favorites, but I couldn’t resist the $12.50 price and the fun pattern. The pockets don’t gape – I would return them if they did.
What sorely disappointed me from Old Navy was this jumpsuit/romper. I know they can be tricky to fit and I’m just venturing into this territory, but I have serious issues with this one and it’s not even over the fit. It didn’t fit as the crotch was a mile long in the front. The back was okay. However, you will notice in the second photo of the back that it isn’t even fastened. The jumpsuit comes with a tiny loop and button for a fastener. One that after several minutes I could not fasten. Come on Old Navy, I’m over 40 and refuse the have someone help dress me. You can do better than this. If I can’t fasten, tie or zip it in under 30 seconds, it doesn’t need to be in my closet.
So there you have a very rudimentary review of my recent purchases. I hope you found some of this helpful for your next online shopping haul or in store shopping trip. Have a great week!
