This past week has been all about gingham. It started last Friday with my gingham mules. Then on Saturday there was a round up post all about gingham and some great pieces you should consider adding to your closet this summer. Monday there was more gingham in my online shopping haul try on session. Today, it’s all about gingham- this fabulous gingham skirt from JCrew Factory.

Besides the eye-catching bow, this skirt has pockets! LOL, every girl’s dream- a skirt or dress with pockets. I love how girly and feminine I feel in this outfit. I love wearing skirts in the summer, and I’m in love with this one, so get ready to see more of it.
Happy Friday! I’m not sure I’ve got five things for you, but here goes with what I’ve got.
1.I mentioned a while back that I planted some oregano, basil and cilantro seeds to try. I’m happy to report that we have been enjoying fresh basil and cilantro. The oregano is just now coming up.
2. Wal-mart.com is now carrying premium brands from Lord and Taylor. Say what? Looks like the same prices as Lord and Taylor but free shipping is a plus.
3. The GYPO Summer 2018 Capsule challenge starts Monday. Did you sign up? You can still sign up and try it out. Refunds will be given through June 16. I promise you won’t request a refund. The skirt above will be styled and my outfit is based off one of the outfits. I couldn’t wait for the challenge to start to wear it. Not convinced? Don’t like red? Don’t like skirts? Shopping links and suggestions come with the challenge material, but ultimately you get to pick what goes in your capsule. Think of the outfit above this way- bright top + gingham bottoms+ neutral wedge. Substitute as you wish. In fact, I picked a different top than what’s on the list, and subbed my own earrings and tote from my closet instead of getting the exact items on the list. This is so much fun to use the challenge as inspiration and then make it your own. You could get a bright pink top, bright green, bright blue- any color of the rainbow would work to create this outfit. Gingham pants or shorts would also work if skirts aren’t your thing. Don’t miss out on this!
4. I haven’t mentioned this much here, but my Dad is a cancer survivor- prostate cancer and then three rounds of bladder cancer. He had a check up this week and is still cancer free! Praise the Lord!
5. We’ve got a HOA meeting to attend this weekend. Our HOA meetings get pretty ugly. I’m hopeful this one is a little more peaceful. I’ll let you know next week. What are your weekend plans?
Have a great weekend!
