I have thoroughly enjoyed these gingham shoes since purchasing them this spring. I gave myself so much grief over investing in them, but I’ve loved them ever since. I also love mixing gingham and floral and was excited to find another way to wear this top. I’ve worn it before in a work outfit and with a black skirt and with a mint skirt. This floral top also works great untucked with jeans.
I meant to get this post up this morning, but while browsing other sites and linking to link parties, I got sucked into the Chico’s website by Dawn Lucy at Fashion Should be Fun. She is one sharp dresser! I love the sleeve detail on the striped top she is wearing and I went to Chico’s to check it out. Sometimes the stuff there is not quite my style but today I found all sorts of things that had me wanting to fill up a cart. One click led to another and down the rabbit hole I went, so better late than never with this post.
Happy Friday! Even though we had a holiday and I took a couple of extra days off, I’m still glad it’s Friday! So what happened this week?
1.The hubby began a remodel of the closet in his office space over the long weekend. He took out the wire shelving and made custom wood shelving. He hopes to have more storage space when he is done. The wire shelving sheet rock anchors left some damage he had to repair first, so he is not as far along as he planned to be. Still, he amazes me with his skills. Maybe, just maybe, I can convince him to do a master closet remodel now.
2.I had a doctor’s appointment out of town this week. All is good. It gave me a chance to go in some stores that I usually only get to shop online from. I popped into the Loft store and almost came home with this beaded tee. It looked so much better in person than it did online. It would pair perfectly with khaki shorts and this fedora. I also learned
3.Have you seen the new Gibson X Hi Sugarplum collection at Nordstrom? I want one of each, especially the Bonita ruffled tank, the twist sleeve tee and the Monterey pull on skirt.
4.Alas, I have to wait and budget because I spent so much during the Memorial Day Sales. A stack of packages arrived yesterday and it looked like Christmas. More are coming today and next week. I ordered gingham shorts from Old Navy, a few tees, a jumpsuit (a first for me, if it fits) and shoes- yep, gingham sandals!
5.Also included in that stack of packages was a new supply of protein powder for the hubby. I’ve been including it in my diet lately. I’ve finally gotten off my behind and started working out. I’ve changed up my diet and eating patterns as well. We will talk more about that later. I’m still working out my program and I plan to share when I know if I’m getting results or not. I will say that this is a great protein powder if you are vegan or gluten free and are staying away from whey. Protein smoothies really fill you up and hold off hunger.
Hope you guys have a great weekend.
