We have all been there. Standing in the closet, looking at a sea of clothes, thinking ” I don’t like any of these pieces anymore.” It happens to the best of us. It’s not that we don’t really like any of our clothes anymore. It’s just that we have been wearing the same thing over and over again, and we are bored with our choices. So how do you create an outfit when you are bored with your closet?

You can always go search Pinterest until you find inspiration. Sometimes I do find new ways to wear things from my Pinterest searches when I recognize I have similar pieces in my closet. Yet sometimes, I can leave frustrated because I don’t have item A from an outfit I like, or item B is in the laundry, or this doesn’t fit the activities I need to dress for. So, how about looking back at what you have worn and loved before?
I’ve worn olive and navy together. It doesn’t matter which color is on the top and which is the bottom. The combination works either way. So I went back to that color combination for this work outfit. Since I was dressing for work, pants and blazer were my choice pieces. Next, my goal was to make it a little different. I choose this floral scarf that tied the two colors together and added a little interest. A plain white button up worked just fine for a top, because it was going to be covered and the scarf was going to be the center of attention anyway. A new outfit was created from tried and true pieces that have been worn over and over again just by mixing them a little differently and adding a fun accessory.
