Welcome to 9 to 5 Style! The third Monday of every month Jennie of A Pocketful of Polka Dots and I will showcase a theme featuring our individual takes on a professional look. Our aim is to inspire and show professional style does not have to mean boring and without personality. We hope you enjoy our 9 to 5 Style!
How did it get to be the third week of January already?!
This month Jennie chose boots as our theme. If you work in a super casual office, then you can get away with boots a lot easier than if you work in a conservative environment. For a conservative environment, you need to choose a sleeker boot with a heel, and not too many buckles or hardware. The easiest way to wear boots to the office is with a skirt or dress.

I chose to wear my boots with a midi skirt. I wore this Friday and you can tell by my photos that it was pretty dreary outside. I guess I was trying to brighten things up with this outfit. I wanted to pair my boots with a midi skirt because my usual go to is a pencil skirt. See how I’ve worn boots to the office before HERE and HERE, and here with a shirt dress. My first choice for a midi skirt was silk material and I was afraid that would not work if it rained, so I grabbed this floral midi skirt I purchased at the end of summer. Pairing it with boots and a wool blazer keeps it in the current season. When the time comes, this would be a great outfit to transition to spring too.
Hope you had a great weekend! I did fun things like clean the oven.
Let’s get this week started. Don’t forget to check out the details on Jennie’s outfit.
