I was out of the office yesterday to take the hubby for a medical procedure so it was the perfect chance for me to wear my new Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases. I really meant that I was shopping for now and my real fall, not a fantasy fall, so I thought that I’d show you how to wear these pieces now and then give them a fall feel later. For now, I paired this top and these jeans with my wedges and tote. And let’s talk about these jeans for a minute. If you caught my try on session, you know I bought the Articles of Society Mya Skinny jeans. They are super soft and comfy and at a great price, but they are 31 inch inseam and not an ankle jean. This short girl is tired of cuffing jeans, and wanted a pair that I didn’t have to cuff so I ordered the NYDJ Ami Stretch skinny in 6 petite. These are the jeans I’m wearing now. So worth the extra money for me. Fit like a glove, no sagging or bagging at the end of the day, no pulling them up at the waist when I get up and down or in and out of the car and look ya’ll, I don’t have to cuff them! After wearing the AOS jeans around the house in the try on session, I was beginning to tug at them a little. Maybe it was because I ordered my usual size and they say to size down, but I figured since I usually size up in skinny jeans, my “normal” size would have been okay. Anyway, the NYDJ are a little stiffer and not as soft, but they hold it all in. The tag says you will look a size smaller. I don’t know about that, but if you are curvy and looking for an ample rise in a skinny jean, give them a try.
Now, let’s make a few changes and take this outfit into fall.

I switched to a classic cuff and earrings and swapped the shoes and bag. Isn’t this the cutest little backpack you have ever seen? I said that to the hubby when I pulled it out of the box and he agreed. The velvet is so on trend for fall again and this is an economical way to add the trend without going overboard. I can’t wait to carry it this fall.
If you haven’t had enough of the sales and shopping, Harper and Jewels is having their Christmas in July sale now through July 29th.
